The Big Sky Eagles will square off against the Helena Bengals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Big Sky 3.9, Helena 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Tuesday, Big Sky made easy work of Capital and carried off a 16-4 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

Big Sky got a massive performance out of Sadie McGuinn, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. McGuinn has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last four times she's played. Hayden Weaver was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Big Sky lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, Helena had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The Bengals' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three contests.
The result came thanks to Faith Howard's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks.
On the hitting side, Helena's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rylee Murgel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Helena pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Big Sky, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.
Both Big Sky and Helena just can't seem to miss. The Eagles have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Helena struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Big Sky beat Helena 4-1 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bengals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
