Delta Valley Conference recap October 1, 2013
Elk Grove extended the longest winning streak in Delta Valley Conference this week by beating Nevada Union, 43-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Elk Grove took down the Miners 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Elijah Jones ran for 105 yards and caught 3 passes for 83 yards during the win.
Chris Nixon's team's dynamic duo of Tommy Arnold and Jones proved tough for Nevada Union to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Arnold threw for 115 yards and Jones had 83 yards receiving. Noah Letuligasenoa Ta'amu helped Elk Grove's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 32 yards.
Deandre Whittington-Grays provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Grant fell to Del Oro.
Whittington-Grays was a force in the backfield as the Pacers lost to the Golden Eagles.
JACOBI KELLY was a key player and the best on defense this week as Laguna Creek lost to Sheldon. The 5-foot-9 senior.
