The Sam Rayburn Texans will be home for the holidays to greet the Anahuac Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Sam Rayburn will be strutting in after a win while Anahuac will be coming in after a loss.
Sam Rayburn has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 39-31 win over Van Vleck on Friday. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Sam Rayburn has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Anahuac pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vinton. While losing is never fun, Anahuac can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1001st in Texas, while Vinton is ranked 110th in Louisiana).
Sam Rayburn's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Anahuac, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Sam Rayburn might still be hurting after the 55-35 defeat they got from Anahuac when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Will Sam Rayburn have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
