The Carver Challengers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Harlan, posting a 47-10 win at home. Considering Carver has won six matches by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Carver got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Astarte Washington out in front who scored 18 points. That makes it six consecutive games in which Washington has scored at least 25% of Carver's points. JaNiyah Statham was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Carver pushed their record up to 8-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Despite that those victories, the team's offense hasn't been rolling: across that stretch, they only averaged 29.8 points per game. As for Harlan, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carver will square off against Bowen at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Harlan, they will head out on the road to face off against Little Village at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Little Village: 21, Harlan: 21) so any points scored will be well earned.
