In what's become a running theme this season, Ocoee gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They blew past Oviedo 52-12 on the road. Given Ocoee's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Oviedo is ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Micah Hannah was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 steals. She also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Paris Triplett, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Freedom's four-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They walked away with a 30-23 victory over Winter Springs.
Ocoee is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
Everything came up roses for Ocoee against Freedom in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 59-17 win. Will Ocoee repeat their success, or does Freedom have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
