Spring has gone a perfect 10-0 against MacArthur recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lions will take on the Generals at 6:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Spring comes in on eight and MacArthur on six.
Spring is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 23-2 margin over Eisenhower on Friday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Mikayla Zepeda looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hailey Jones-Calais was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Xianne Bettis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
Spring kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, while MacArthur put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Aldine. The Generals put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Generals are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the ninth game they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Lizandra Garcia made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, MacArthur got a massive performance out of Amanda Morales, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Morales a new career-high. Bianca Samudio also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Spring's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.3 runs over those games. As for MacArthur, they now have a winning record of 10-9-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Spring has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .527. However, it's not like MacArthur struggles in that department as they've averaged .465. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Spring took their win against MacArthur when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 11-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
