Even though the Lakes Eagles have not done well against the Round Lake Panthers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lakes walked away with a 39-30 victory over Round Lake. This was payback for Lakes, who suffered a 49-42 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Lakes' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Twarling, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Anderson, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds.
The win got Lakes back to even at 4-4. As for Round Lake, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Lakes will be playing at home against Wauconda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Round Lake, they will head out on the road to face off against North Chicago at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for North Chicago and three for Round Lake.
