The Quincy Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 44-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Loyalton. Quincy lost against Loyalton in their previous head to head last Tuesday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-41 score last time.
Aidan Shelby was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds for Loyalton. The matchup was Shelby's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ace Armstrong, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Quincy has fallen quite a ways from their 21-5 record last season and are now at 1-6. As for Loyalton, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Quincy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Portola at 8:30 p.m. on December 9th. Portola is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61 points per game. Loyalton won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Modoc at 1:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Modoc focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
