Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Welsh walked away with it. They came out on top against the Grand Lake Hornets by a score of  6-3  on Wednesday. The  win was familiar territory for the Greyhounds, who have now won six  contests in a row.
 Dane Iguess was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. He  struck out nine batters over  six innings while giving up  three earned runs off   seven  hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  tossed less than eight  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Iguess wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Brecken Haydel, who  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI. Haydel has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times he's  played.  Jordan Strong was another,  earning two  runs and two  stolen bases.
Welsh's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 22-10. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Grand Lake, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 24-9 record  this season.
