The Youngker Roughriders pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Verrado. Youngker has not had much luck with Verrado recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Xavier Hargrove and Hayden Williams certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Hargrove scored 7 points along with 12 rebounds and 6 assists, while Williams scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Hargrove has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ares Chambers, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals.
Youngker's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Verrado, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Youngker will be playing in front of their home fans against Casa Grande at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Verrado won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Cactus Shadows at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Cactus Shadows presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Verrado in Arizona (Cactus Shadows is ranked 16th, while Verrado is ranked 80th).
