1A-1 Region I District 4 recap September 24, 2013
Anson moved up to 254 from 288 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A-1 Region I District 4. The Tigers were able to move up by topping Miles 47-0.
Stamford extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Colorado, 53-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Bulldogs.
Kolby Self was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 114 yards on 21 carries as Forsan lost to Hamlin. Teammate Jesse Cervantes added to the ground attack by rushing for 39 yards.
Kraatz was the best wideout in 1A-1 Region I District 4 this week as the Blizzards lost to the Pied Pipers. Kraatz tallied 4 receptions for 65 yards. Daryl Hagle helped Winters' passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 54 yards.
Bo Wimberly threw for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 9-15 with 0 interception.
Wimberly put up the best numbers through the air as Stamford bested the Wolves. Wimberly's favorite target this week was James Washington, who caught 5 passes for 61 yards.
Stamford's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wimberly has thrown for 619 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Washington has 22 catches for 395 yards. Wimberly also leads the league in rushing with 404 yards.
Anson took down the Bulldogs 47-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
