The Victor Valley Jackrabbits struggled with threes on Thursday (the Barstow Aztecs had six more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Victor Valley fell 62-53 to Barstow. It was the first time this season that Victor Valley let down their fans at home.
Victor Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being AXEL SOSA, who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of ISAIAH BUTLER, who scored 13 points.
Barstow got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Quesey Gaoa out in front who scored 21 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gaoa has scored all season. Drelyn Brown was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Victor Valley's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6. As for Barstow, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Victor Valley will head out on the road to face off against Granite Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Barstow, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lakeview Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m.
