Even though the Rich Rebels have not done well against the Lyman Eagles recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Rich took down Lyman 56-39. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up nine more assists than your opponent, as Rich did.
Among those leading the charge was Haydee Pugmire, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. Pugmire is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Violett Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was BriLee Bradshaw, who scored 6 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Rose, who scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds.
Rich now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lyman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Lovell the next time they take the court. Lyman will host Lovell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Rich will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
