Ellsworth has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Grand Traverse Academy Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
Last Tuesday, Ellsworth suffered a tough 53-32 loss at the hands of Mancelona.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Grand Traverse Academy's strategy against Walkerville on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Grand Traverse Academy blew Walkerville out of the water with a 52-17 final score. With Grand Traverse Academy ahead 30-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Megan Pavwoski went supernova for Grand Traverse Academy, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pavwoski has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Paige Bell, who scored nine points along with five steals.
Ellsworth's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Grand Traverse Academy, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Ellsworth might still be hurting after the 54-34 loss they got from Grand Traverse Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Thankfully for Ellsworth, Julia Jones (who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
