District 10 Region 4 AA recap Oct. 30, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Girard, who took down 308th ranked Girard, 13-10.
Northwestern extended the longest winning streak in District 10 Region 4 AA this week by beating Fairview, 49-14. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Wildcats.
The Tigers' dynamic duo of Ben Kocan and Michael McCloy proved tough for Northwestern to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kocan threw for 40 yards and two touchdowns and McCloy had 40 yards receiving.
Matt Cragg was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 24 carries, he ran for 234 yards as Corry lost to DJ Hough's team. Teammate Shane Taubert added to the ground attack by rushing for 70 yards.
The Beavers' Nathanel Smith and Tyler Engle have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Smith has thrown for 1099 yards this season, while Engle, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 33 catches for 452 yards. Jim Brinling's team's Shannon Jackson leads the league in rushing yards with 1921.
Fort LeBoeuf moved up to 397 from 433 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in District 10 Region 4 AA. The Bison were able to make move up by defeating the Yellowjackets 13-10.
