The John Glenn Little Muskies were the 64-48 winner over the New Philadelphia Quakers when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. John Glenn fell just short of New Philadelphia by a score of 43-41.
John Glenn's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Caleb Larrick and Stehl Bates. Larrick scored 16 points along with six rebounds, while Bates scored 11 points along with four steals. The match was Bates' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Nicolozakes, who scored four points.
John Glenn's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3. As for New Philadelphia, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Glenn will take on Coshocton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Coshocton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games. As for New Philadelphia, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mansfield Senior at 7:30 p.m. Mansfield Senior will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
