Softball Recap: Science Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

Science Leadership Academy was the 11-1 winner over Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Science Leadership Academy fell 4-1 to Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush on Thursday. The contest marked Science Leadership Academy's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Grace Greer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Dylan Paul also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Science Leadership Academy dropped their record down to 4-5 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush, they moved to 4-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Science Leadership Academy is set to challenge their familiar foe MAST Charter II at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush will take on rival Swenson Arts & Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
