Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ava Paitz and Garittee Smith Lead Ansley/Litchfield to Victory

There's no place like home for Ansley/Litchfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Elm Creek Buffaloes on Thursday. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Buffaloes, too.

While Ansley/Litchfield won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-22.

Leading Ansley/Litchfield to victory were Garittee Smith and Ava Paitz. Smith had 12 digs and two aces, while Paitz had eight digs and two aces. Smith has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last six times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Elm Creek lost, don't look at Reece Steiner. Despite the final result, she had 20 digs.

The win got Ansley/Litchfield back to even at 1-1.

Ansley/Litchfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Silver Lake on the 30th. As for Elm Creek, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Amherst on the 28th.
