The McGuffey Highlanders will head out on the road to face off against the Leechburg Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
McGuffey unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 50-36 to Mt. Pleasant. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as McGuffey came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Mt. Pleasant is ranked 599th).
Meanwhile, Leechburg might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Jeannette an easy 55-29 victory.
Jayden Floyd put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points.
McGuffey's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Leechburg, they bumped their record down to 2-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
