There's no place like home for Concord, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the West Cabarrus Wolverines on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. This was payback for the Spiders, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Concord was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 22-25, 20-25, 25-13, 18-16.

Leah Williams paced Concord's offense, picking up 16 kills. Williams got some help from Adeline Fulton and her 31 assists. Fulton was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

When it comes to explaining why West Cabarrus lost, don't look at Madison McIntyre. Despite the final result, she had 42 digs, 17 kills, four aces, and two blocks. McIntyre is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Emmaline Bryant, who had 29 digs and three aces.

Concord's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2. As for West Cabarrus, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Concord wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against North Rowan on the 21st. As for West Cabarrus, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Hopewell on the 20th.
