Football Game Preview: Clear Lake Cardinals vs. Willits Wolverines + How To Watch

The Clear Lake Cardinals will venture away from home to take on the Willits Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Clear Lake played against Mt. Shasta on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Despite the loss, Clear Lake got top-tier performance from Adam Bruch, who threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 79 yards on only 11 carries. Jesse Hayes was another key player, gaining 77 total yards.

On Friday, Willits beat Lower Lake 21-14. The Wolverines haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

A big part of Willits' victory came down to the chemistry between Corey Rockey and his top target Ryan Carter. Rockey threw for 173 yards and one TD on only 16 passes while Carter picked up 137 receiving yards and one score. Those 137 receiving yards gave Carter a new career-high. Ricky Britton got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Willits' win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Clear Lake, they moved to 3-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Clear Lake came up short against Willits in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 46-39. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Rockey, who threw for 470 yards and five touchdowns.
