Pleasant had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Wednesday. They strolled past the Kenton Wildcats with points to spare, taking the game 57-41. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 344th, while the Wildcats are ranked 710th).

Pleasant's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Evan Sickmiller led the charge by dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Hamper, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 10 points and six rebounds.

Pleasant's victory bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Kenton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Pleasant will face off against Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' defense better be ready for this one: the Fighting Scots have averaged an impressive 51.2 points per game this season. As for Kenton, they will square off against Memorial at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Roughriders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.78 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
