The Dillon Wildcats will face off against the Lamar Silver Fox at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dillon will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Marlboro County on Monday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Bulldogs. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Jayla Wright made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Dillon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marlboro County only posted an OBP of .231.
Meanwhile, Lamar got the win against Great Falls on Friday by a conclusive 22-1.
Like Dillon, Lamar also got a great game from a two-way player: Ansley Brantley. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Brantley was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Lamar got a massive performance out of Jordyn Scarbrough, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That home run marked the first that Scarbrough has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Kynley Brantley, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.
Dillon's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-10. As for Lamar, their win bumped their record up to 13-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dillon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lamar struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Dillon's way against Lamar in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, as Dillon made off with a 6-0 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Silver Fox have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
