South Lakes had lost three games at home, but after bumping their record up to 11-5  on Friday that streak is in the rearview. Not much got past  Gracie De La Cruz, who gave up just  a  hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Chantilly off the board. Those 13  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  De La Cruz.

 On Chantilly's side,  Bella Eig was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she  struck out nine batters over  six innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits (and only one walk). Eig has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances.
