The Port Gibson Blue Waves were the 82-67 winner over the South Delta Bulldogs when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Port Gibson took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Delta. Port Gibson has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
South Delta's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamichael Green, who scored 21 points along with 5 steals. The contest was Green's third in a row with at least ten points. Ahmani Lee was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
Port Gibson has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for South Delta, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Gibson will take on Vicksburg at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Vicksburg's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for South Delta, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. Jefferson County comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
