Girls Prep and Chattanooga Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Bruisers will face off against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Girls Prep will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Girls Prep earned a 6-3 victory over Signal Mountain.
Girls Prep got a great performance from Addison Jones as she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Jones has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Chattanooga Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Boyd-Buchanan by a score of 5-4.
Nyla Halfacre made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, three RBI, and two doubles while going 4-for-4. Addi Lewis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Girls Prep pushed their record up to 15-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Chattanooga Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.
Girls Prep's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's match. The Bruisers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Chattanooga Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Girls Prep continue to outrun the ball?
Girls Prep couldn't quite finish off Chattanooga Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Bruisers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
