If the South Wake Sabres were feeling good off their 75-44 takedown of the Southeastern HomeSchool Cardinals last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. South Wake took a 72-55 bruising from New Life Christian Academy on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, South Wake still got an impressive performance from Jacob Webb, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Santos, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
New Life Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaleb James out in front who scored 20 points along with four steals. Jaheim Faison was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
South Wake has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-10 record this season. As for New Life Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 16-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Wake will take on New Life Camp at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in South Wake's favor as the squad sits on 13 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while New Life Camp has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. New Life Christian Academy will take on Elevation Prep Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. New Life Christian Academy is facing Elevation Prep Academy at the right time seeing as Elevation Prep Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
