Paris moved up to 345 from 390 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Apollo. A 34-20 win over the Tigers helped the Tigers improve their standing.
Effingham and Salem played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Effingham eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory.
Charleston's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Sean Hussey threw for 254 and four touchdowns and Truston Winnett had 193 yards receiving. On the ground Josh Cazley chipped in 176 yards. Ethan Miller helped Charleston's passing attack out by catching one ball for 48 yards.
Charleston's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hussey has thrown for 1097 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Winnett has 27 catches for 565 yards. Cazley leads the league in rushing with 637 yards.
A big matchup in Apollo this week will be when the Trojans take on Mt. Zion. Charleston is currently in first, while the Braves are in fourth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Brian Halsey's team takes on Mt. Zion. The Trojans have allowed 84 points this season, while Scott Davis's team has given up 150. Charleston allowed 29 points last week as it defeated Mattoon.
