Although Rocky Mountain Lutheran surrendered only six walks this week, the lowest number in the league over that span, the Bulldogs are still tops for the season with just eight walks over 11 innings this year.
The Eagles'
Juan Gonzalez kept his eye on the prize while at bat this week, leading the league with a .500 average (3-for-6). His average for the season stands at .556, which ranks fourth in the league. Gonzalez has totaled five hits this season.
The week's strikeout crown belonged to
Eli Sievert, who turned in 12 Ks for Rocky Mountain Lutheran. With 15 strikeouts this year so far, he ranks second in the league.
The Eagles' Sievert struck out 12 Cornerstone Christian Academy hitters en route to a 7-3 victory on March 21. He gave up seven hits and three runs over six innings of work.
Sievert drove in four runners on Thursday in Rocky Mountain Lutheran's 7-3 victory over the Bulldogs. He went 2-for-3 and scored one run.
