Given Knightdale's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Leesville Road is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Knightdale to victory were Ibukun Adewumi and Isaiah Green. Adewumi scored 12 points, while Green scored 15 points along with 4 steals. Green is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Khalel Sanders, who scored 7 points along with 8 rebounds.
Knightdale's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Leesville Road, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knightdale will take on Enloe at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Leesville Road, they will head out on the road to face off against Holly Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holly Springs has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 192 points over their last three matches.
