Mulvane is 0-10 against Augusta since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Mulvane Wildcats will be playing at home against the Augusta Orioles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Mulvane didn't have too much trouble with Clearwater at home as they won 50-36. Given Mulvane's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Clearwater is ranked 207th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mulvane relied on the efforts of Manny Myers, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds, and Aiden Mckee, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Mckee pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Meanwhile, Augusta scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 73-30 win over El Dorado. That looming 73-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Augusta yet this season.
Mulvane has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Augusta, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7.
Mulvane came up short against Augusta when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 43-38. Can Mulvane avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
