Football Recap: Sheehan Skates Past Windham with Ease

With a playoff win on the line, Sheehan rose to the challenge on Sunday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Windham Whippets 49-13. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by 27 points or more this season.

Sheehan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayden Dougherty, who picked up 255 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Dougherty a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Jake O'Brien, who threw for 344 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes.

Although Windham took the loss, they still got scores from Troy Torres-Morey and Yadiel DeJesus.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Sheehan, bringing their record for this year to 10-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.2 points per game. As for Windham, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-2 record.

Sheehan will take on Killingly at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Killingly has won seven straight at home, while Sheehan won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Windham does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
