It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Dobson Mustangs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They slipped by Mountain View 59-58. The victory was some much needed relief for Dobson as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Dobson was led to victory by Anthony Bolton and Zayn Young. Bolton scored eight points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Young scored 18 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Young has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Donovan Beard, who scored 15 points.
Dobson's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9. As for Mountain View, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dobson will square off against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mesa at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Mesa presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mountain View in Arizona (Mesa is ranked 31st, while Mountain View is ranked 90th).
