The Rockford East E-Rabs lost against the Jefferson J-Hawks back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Rockford East took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jefferson. Rockford East has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Rockford East's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camajay Casson, who scored six points along with two steals. Casson is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Sterling Hoarde was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Rockford East has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season. As for Jefferson, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockford East will challenge Hononegah at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hononegah knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Rockford East likes a good challenge. As for Jefferson, they will head out on the road to challenge Boylan Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
