Meridian is 1-9 against Timberline since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Meridian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.2 runs per game this season.
Meridian will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Centennial, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Warriors walked away with an 8-3 win over the Patriots on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Patriots on their field since March 19, 2019.
Reagan Morris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alexia Flygare, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jillian Dunkle, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Meridian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Timberline). Everything went their way against Ridgevue on Tuesday as they made off with a 26-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wolves, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Timberline got a massive performance out of Ivy Norskog, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Mallorie Casch was another key player, getting on base in all six of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Timberline's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Meridian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Meridian hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like Timberline struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Meridian might still be hurting after the 14-4 loss they got from Timberline when the teams last played back in March. Will the Warriors have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
