The Melbourne Bulldogs suffered their biggest defeat since December 27, 2023 on Tuesday. Their rough 55-35 loss to Satellite might stick with them for a while. Melbourne has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabrielly Bortolucci, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Quinteria Coger was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.
Melbourne has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Satellite, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Melbourne will challenge West Shore at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. West Shore is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. Satellite's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bayside on January 18th. Bayside's defense has only allowed 29.7 points per game this season, so Satellite's offense will have their work cut out for them.
