Leavitt and Morse are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Leavitt Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Morse Shipbuilders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morse took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Leavitt, who comes in off a win.
Leavitt can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 54-28 margin over Cape Elizabeth. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Leavitt has posted since December 12, 2023.
Morse suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Oceanside on the road and fell 76-20. While losing is never fun, Morse can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Oceanside is ranked second).
Leavitt's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Morse, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
Leavitt came up short against Morse in their previous matchup on January 2nd, falling 45-35. Can Leavitt avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
