The Spencer Greenwave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season. They took their matchup at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 69-37 win over Jordan. The win was a breath of fresh air for Spencer as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Malaja Dyous was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 21 rebounds. Those 21 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Naomi Berk, who scored 20 points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Spencer's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Jordan, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Spencer won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Harris County at 3:00 p.m. on January 6th. Harris County is on a four-game streak of home wins, Spencer a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Jordan will take on Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
