The Canton C-Hawks will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Beresford Watchdogs at 6:15 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Canton sitting on three straight wins and Beresford on four.
Last Tuesday, Canton earned a 49-42 victory over Elkton/Lake Benton.
Meanwhile, Beresford got the win against Madison on Tuesday by a conclusive 45-23. Given Beresford's advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Madison is ranked 133rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
The victory got Canton back to even at 4-4. As for Beresford, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Canton strolled past Beresford when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a score of 60-43. Does Canton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Beresford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
