Two dominant guards in Nick Whitehead and Vincent Moss are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The St. Mary's Academy Crusaders will head out on the road to take on KIPP Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully St. Mary's Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Monday.
On Monday, St. Mary's Academy was the victim of a tough 58-32 loss at the hands of Kauffman.
The losing side was boosted by Whitehead, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, KIPP Legacy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak last Friday. They took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Center. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as KIPP Legacy came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Center is ranked 214th).
St. Mary's Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for KIPP Legacy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-5.
Everything went St. Mary's Academy's way against KIPP Legacy in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as St. Mary's Academy made off with a 66-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Mary's Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
