 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Marta Gualazzi, who  went 2-for-3 with a  home run, two  runs,  and a  triple. Another player making a difference was  Kylie DeSalle, who  scored a  run and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in two of her three plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Ambridge's offense. They lost  15-0 to Hampton two weeks ago.
 Chartiers Valley is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record  this season. As for Ambridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
 Everything went Chartiers Valley's way against Ambridge in their previous matchup  back in April as Chartiers Valley made off with  a  16-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Chartiers Valley since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
