Depew is 0-4 against Regent Prep since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Depew Hornets will head out on the road to face off against Regent Prep at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Even though Depew has not done well against Davenport recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Depew simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Davenport 57-8 on the road. Winning may never get old, but Depew sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Depew got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyler Burdick out in front who threw for 200 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Mateo Wren made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, Regent Prep entered their tilt with Pioneer-Pleasant Vale with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Regent Prep took their match on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 52-6 win over Pioneer-Pleasant Vale. That's two games straight that Regent Prep has won by exactly 46 points.
Their wins bumped Depew to 5-5 and Regent Prep to 7-1.
Depew took a serious blow against Regent Prep in their previous matchup back in October of 2021, falling 49-0. Can Depew avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
