2A Greater St. Helens recap Oct. 30, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Ridgefield, who took down 94th ranked Ridgefield, 15-9.
Mark Morris extended the longest winning streak in 2A Greater St. Helens this week by beating Long, 41-14. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
The Spudders' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Gunnar Long threw for 66 yards and Clayton Farr had 24 yards receiving. On the ground Long chipped in 55 yards. Kirk Benson helped Ridgefield's passing attack out by catching one ball for 16 yards.
Ridgefield's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Spudders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Long has thrown for 1091 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Sam Gillenwater has 15 catches for 509 yards. Farr leads the league in rushing with 718 yards.
Aberdeen and Ridgefield played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Aberdeen eventually emerging with a 15-9 victory.
