The River Valley Dust Devils pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Parker. River Valley has not had much luck with the Broncs recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Several Dust Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabriel Short, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Nash Hanrahan was another key contributor, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 2 assists.
He wasn't the only one working in the assists department: River Valley were working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. This was only their tenth loss (out of 13 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
River Valley dropped their record down to 3-14 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Parker, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River Valley will face off against the Minotaur at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Odyssey Institute has now lost 13 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30. As for Parker, they will head out on the road to take on the Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
