The McKenzie Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their eighth straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 81-56 walloping at the hands of Triangle Lake. McKenzie has struggled against Triangle Lake recently, as their game on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
McKenzie's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rhys Hamlow, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hamlow has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Will Meister, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
McKenzie has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 15 of their last 16 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-21 record this season. As for Triangle Lake, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Alsea the next time they take the court. Triangle Lake will head out to face Alsea at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, while McKenzie will host them at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
