In what's become a running theme this season, the Clayton Clippers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. Everything went their way against Salem as Clayton made off with a 63-38 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Clayton has posted since December 21, 2023.
Rainelle Blocker was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 22 points, 21 rebounds, and nine steals. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. Jordyn Jones was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds.
The win got Clayton back to even at 6-6. As for Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clayton will take on Sterling at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Sterling focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Thursday. As for Salem, they will head out on the road to take on Paulsboro on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Paulsboro is ranked 305th, while Salem is ranked 321st).
