Softball Recap: Fillmore's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Fillmore had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past the Hinsdale Central Bobcats 21-9. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Fillmore pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Hinsdale Central, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Looking ahead, Fillmore will challenge Genesee Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hinsdale Central, they are taking a road trip to square off against Alfred-Almond at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
