The Arapahoe Warriors struggled with threes on Tuesday (the Alma Cardinals had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. The contest between Arapahoe and the Cardinals wasn't particularly close, with the Warriors falling 56-37. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Arapahoe in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Arapahoe saw an underclassman step up: Clara Hilker dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Berkley Warner was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Alma's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Chayse Molzahn, who scored 11 points along with three steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Tierston Moore, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Arapahoe's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-10. As for Alma, their victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arapahoe will take on the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Brady focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday. As for Alma, they will be playing at home against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern Valley is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 15 games.
