Deltona hasn't had much luck against Spruce Creek recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wolves will face off against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m.
Last Wednesday, Deltona didn't have quite enough to beat Father Lopez and fell 9-8.

Deltona got a good showing from Evan Grove, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Grove has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Noah Lochiatto and Kenny Dozier stepped up to the plate in a big way. Lochiatto scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Dozier scored a run while going 1-for-3. Eric Cunningham also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Meanwhile, Spruce Creek came tearing into Monday's game with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Titans 21-3. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 11 matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Peyson Garcia made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Tyler Boyesen was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Mason Sanders was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Spruce Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Olympia only managed one hit.
Spruce Creek's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Deltona, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Deltona has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Spruce Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Deltona couldn't quite get it done against Spruce Creek when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
