Shenandoah's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jarrett Helman, who posted two points along with 16 rebounds and four steals, and Aiden Coffey, who earned 13 points. Those 16 rebounds gave Helman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddux Davis, who put up seven points.
Even though they lost, Shenandoah smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri only pulled down four offensive boards.
Meanwhile, Monroe Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Tournament Opponent by a score of 39-37. The game marked the Golden Bears' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Shenandoah will have to contain Easton Foster as he made an impact in Monroe Central's last game. He dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. That was a full 59.5% of Monroe Central's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Luke Morgan was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Shenandoah hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55 points per game. However, it's not like Monroe Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 61.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Shenandoah didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Monroe Central in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 39-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shenandoah since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
